Message	they shouldn't be really compared... F16s and F18s are multipurpose fighters F14 was designed to be an interceptor...hence the long range radar and the pheonix missle system. The F15 is a whole different ball game. It is the most expensive fighter in the USAF and has the thrust capability to go straight up like a shuttle. Anyways they really shouldn't be compared because they all have their supriorities and all have their downsides. The F14 with its radar and pheonix can shoot down any other plane before they even notice that the F14 is there. The only warning they will get is that a plane has radar lock on them.
